As of 1999, and again in 2005, surveys indicated that 1 in 5 American Adults believe the sun orbits the earth. From the Gallup poll:

Sun revolves around the earth 18%
No opinion 3%

Afterthought: Who has "no opinion" about a binary statement of fact?
